Meet your fellow Dames and “Walk the High Line” on Saturday morning, June 3rd. Conducted by Dame Beth Allen's husband, John, the day will begin promptly at 9:15 am with a farm-to-table breakfast buffet at Mary Cleaver's charming eatery, The Green Table. Mary will share highlights from her storied 35-year catering and restaurateur career, as well as the food history behind The Chelsea Market, once the headquarters of Nabisco, and home of the Oreo. Walking tour starts at 10:30 am, with John and Beth offering up historical details that include the fascinating industrial, food and political backstory of The High Line, which not that long ago was a rumbling relic from Manhattan's past, scheduled for demolition. It is now a spectacular 1-3/4 mile elevated urban park, and the most visited attraction in New York City. Wear comfortable shoes.
Saturday, June 3rd, 9:15 AM to 12:30 PM. Meeting at The Green Table (Chelsea Market) 75 9th Avenue (btw West 15th & 16th Streets), NYC 10011. By Subway: 14th Street Station/8th Avenue (A,C,E lines).
