LES DAMES d'ESCOFFIER-NEW YORK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2007

In 2007, 16 talented and enterprising women were awarded over $46,000 in scholarships for culinary, nutrition, hospitality and wine education from the New York chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier.

Among our winners were a crisis counselor in college who worked in food in the South of France (CIA), executives in the pharmaceutical (FCI), marketing (ICE), defense contracting (NYU), banking (ICE) and music industries (IWC), including natives of Hong Kong (NYU), Laos (Art Institute) and Jamaica (New York Tech).

Les Dames D'Escoffier New York is an organization of women leaders in the food, beverage and hospitality industries who seek to achieve and maintain excellence in these professions. To encourage more women to enter the field, Les Dames has been awarding scholarships for 20 years. Over 200 women have received scholarships worth more than $250,000 since the inception of the program.

LES DAMES d'ESCOFFIER-NEW YORK SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2006

In 2006, we awarded over $35,000 to 12 women.

Among our 2006 winners were a high school teacher/culinary instructor in the New York City Public School System (CIA), a 42-year-old career changer (ICE), a dietitian specializing in kidney diseases (ICE), a high school graduate who hopes to own a Puerto Rican and Soul Food restaurant in Manhattan (Arts Institute of New York), a former American in Paris who moved back to the U.S. to acquire a formal culinary education (FCI) and a Belgian of Moroccan descent who is seeking a wine director/sommelier position at a top restaurant (International Wine Center or WSET).
