Chinese New Year Tea of Togetherness
Celebrating Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea at Mandarin Oriental, New York

It was a lovely rainy day February 23 when seven dames gathered to celebrate Chinese New Year with a Tea of Togetherness!
Overlooking Central Park, the Lobby Lounge at Mandarin Oriental, New York offered the perfect perch on such a dreary day. The festivities began with a toast to the Year of the Dragon with La Caravelle Champagne provided by Dame Rita Jammet. Eight dames attended.
Tea came in three courses starting with a bento box of assorted dim sum ands uperb turnip cake – who knew that could be delicious? The second course was the famous ginger scones that are featured daily at the hotel. We ended with delicious Chinese tea cakes and washed it all down with Mandarin Blossom tea. Dames Emily Snyder and Carrie De Marte co-hosted with Dame Toni Robertson (Executive Chef) overseeing the preparations.
All in all it was a wonderful way to welcome in the year of the Tiger – take it by the tale!.
