A DAY IN THE  COUNTRY

Spend a day in the green rolling hills of Pine Plains, Dutchess County, New York.  Visit with Sarah Chase, one of very few female dairy farmers working today. Meet her grass-fed herd and find out what it takes to dairy farm so unconventionally.  Visit Chaseholm Farm Creamery, where her brother Rory Chase crafts European style cheeses, for a talk and tasting lunch.  Then go on to award-winning Hillrock Estate Distillery and its “malting cathedral” to find out how grains become whiskey and taste the wares.  At day’s close, relax and enjoy the authentic warm ambience of Stissing House (1794) where Chef Jean Michel will prepare dinner.  Depart by train; plan to arrive at Grand Central Station at 10 p.m.

A NIGHT IN THE COUNTRY (optional)

The Inn at Pine Plains Inn is just a stone’s throw from Stissing House.  Coming by train or car, there is plenty to do in the area now known as “Napa Valley East”.   Inn reservations by April 1. Complete details to follow soon
